Who Are We?

Anthony N. Tate - Founder / Managing Partner 

Born in a suburb of Chicago. I have 2 rock star parents, second born out of four. I was a 4 sport athlete and attended an all male military high school. I learned a lot about discipline, competing with the best and how to work hard. Like a lot of young athletes, I thought I would play professional football. Life did what it does and humbled me. Within a 4 year period I fractured my back, broke my foot, tore both shoulder labrums, tore MCL (L) and ACL (R) knees. Managed to play through 2 seasons with injuries. Had to dig deep. Some might say I'm crazy, but this didn't stop me from trying to walk on to the University of Missouri's football team. I made the team and in spring ball, I re-tore my knee. These injuries taught me how to overcome adversity. I finally hung up the cleats for good, but I still have the athlete mindset. 

I was lucky enough to grow up with several family members who owned companies. Everything from pizza and ice cream shops, spa's, law firms and my Grandpa owned a large manufacturer. I knew from a young age entrepreneurship was the path for me at some point.  I started in the corporate world to learn as much as possible. My professional career has consisted of sales, marketing, management consulting and financial services. Working at IBM provided me with world class training and the ability to learn how to sell, solve problems and be a leader. 

Throughout my corporate career I've started, invested and advised companies across various industries. Some successful, most were flops but learned a lot. I concluded that my skills are best aligned with building existing companies opposed to starting from scratch. ANT Firm started as a consulting firm for small to medium sized companies and has turned into an investment vehicle to acquire a small company.  

I'm obsessed with learning and will always pursue a challenge head on. I look forward to acquiring and building a company in the next chapter of my career.

PS my dog has been by my side over over 10 years. He's excited for the next chapter as well.
